Meet Mandy Mullen, owner of FusionFIT in Windsor. I have belonged to many gyms: some of these experiences were good and some not so much. Since joining FusionFIT, I understand how impersonal these other gyms were. It may sound trite, but at FusionFIT, I feel like I’m part of a family. This feeling stemmed from the moment I met Mandy, as it was obvious she cared.
Cheering for her husband while he ran the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013, the day of the tragic bombing, changed Mandy’s life. While she and her husband were thankfully unhurt, this devastating event led Mandy to become more involved in supporting those who want to run. In 2017, Mandy started run.Windsor, an organization that offers group runs, individualized training programs, charitable races, and a supportive group for women runners in Windsor & the surrounding areas.
Then, in 2019, Mandy opened FusionFIT. Her concept was simple: provide a place where anyone at any level of fitness can be active at an affordable rate.
“Whether you’re an ultra-marathoner or you’re new to fitness, there’s a place for you.”
As a stay-at-home mom, Mandy struggled through the years to find time to be active without feeling the guilt of being away from her kids or the financial strain of joining a gym. At FusionFIT and with run.Windsor, she has removed these barriers for others with her affordable pricing and emphasis on accessible childcare. You don’t have to be a runner or a mom to fit in at FusionFIT. The gym offers Bootcamp, strength training, Barre, kick-boxing, and cardio classes within an approachable and welcoming setting.
