When prepping your home for potential buyers, it’s important to make it look as nice as possible–honestly, it should look like nobody lives there at all. Here are our 4 rules to make your home sparkle (and sell it for as much as the market will bear in record time)
If you want to sell your home for as much as the market will bear, and quickly, then you need to address the following questions:
1) Make your home sparkle. You’ll need to:
- Get your home cleaner than you’ve ever seen it…carpets included
- Get rid of clutter via donation or a storage shed
- Make your home odor-free! Pet smells and smoke are the worst offenders.
- Maintain neat landscaping
2) Highlighting a unique feature of your home. Examples include:
- A remodeled kitchen
- Foothills/front range views
- A porch or patio
- A three-car garage in a two-car garage neighborhood
3) Consider whether your home’s location offers something special to potential buyers. Examples include:
- A park across the street
- Situation at the back of a cul-de-sac
- A greenbelt behind the home
- Location close to downtown
4) Finally, based on your answers to the above questions, is your home priced accordingly?
Even if everything else is perfect, your home won’t sell if you don’t come close to asking the “right” price!
